SHARING YOUR STORIES.
ABOUT ME
My name is Mayra Franco and I am proud to have been raised in 'The Heart of California' in Madera. I graduated from California State University of Fresno with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and Journalism with emphasis in Broadcast Journalism in December 2020. Proudly, I say that I am a first generation student and the first person in my family to attend a University.
I was a part of the award-winning news program Fresno State Focus produced by students which transitioned to virtual instruction during the Coronavirus Pandemic in March 2021. I was also an intern at Community Media Access Collaborative where I gained skills in programming, social media marketing and in-depth education of media literacy.
Shorty after graduation, I made the decision to chase an adventure and dream in the Midwest during the pandemic when a lot of opportunities were frozen. In March 2020, I became the morning reporter for ABC57 News in South Bend, Indiana where I got to share the stories of Michiganders and Hoosiers during the four-hour newscast.

After a great ride in the Midwest, it was faith's timing to return back home to the place that truly stole my heart, the Central Valley.
I have a great desire to be a part of my community where I get to interact with people and share stories that impact them every day. I also hope one day to give back to my community and become a mentor to future generations.
